🏡 Our Housing Model
At State of Mind Collective (SOMC), we provide stable, fully furnished, all-inclusive housing for young adults (ages 18–24) in thoughtfully maintained homes throughout Chicago. Our properties are located in safe, established neighborhoods with easy access to public transportation, schools, and job opportunities.
SOMC is a private landlord, not a licensed care facility or transitional housing program. We offer housing—not services or supervision—allowing residents to live independently while maintaining connections with external support systems.
✅ What We Provide
Each resident signs a month-to-month lease for a private or shared room in a shared home. Our homes include:
Fully furnished bedrooms (private or shared options available)
All utilities included (gas, electric, water, trash)
High-speed Wi-Fi and shared streaming access
In-unit laundry or access to nearby facilities
Basic linens and household furnishings
Safe, substance-free community environment
🤝 Support Through Our Partners
While SOMC does not provide medical or case management services, many of our residents are referred by social service agencies that offer ongoing support. Through these partnerships, residents may access:
Healthcare services arranged by their agency
Case management and life skills coaching
Mental health or behavioral health support
Employment training and community programs
These services are not offered by SOMC directly but may be accessed independently or through an agency partnership.
⚖️ Our Legal Standing
SOMC complies fully with the Federal Fair Housing Act. We operate as a private housing provider and do not offer licensed care, supervision, or transitional housing services. Tenants maintain full legal rights under Chicago’s Residential Landlord and Tenant Ordinance (RLTO)
